Solo ride. Check!

Matt finally got to complete his solo ride!!!! It had been one cancelation after another and finally yesterday afternoon he got the green light to go!!! His actual ride went very well!! The tradition is... If you can make it back to the flight room without being thrown into the pool after your solo flight, then every person in your flight buys you a case of beer. Matt put up a great fight; however the guys did get him in the pool:




I am so sad that I missed it all however I am very excited and so proud of him and his accomplishment! I will say.... I am glad they got him in that pool because Im not real sure what we would have done with all that beer :)

STAND UP: Blues?? And Bags??
Over the past few weeks, you may have heard Matt and I use the terms Blues or bags. (i.e.- "He is back in blues" or "I have to change out of my bags"). The term Blues is referring to his dress blue uniform. This uniform is worn for semi-dress occasions and in training- as a punishment. They consider this a punishment because it is uncomfortable and a hassle. Now there is another formal dress that they wear and it is called Mess Dress which is worn during/for more formal occasions (they remind me of a penguin). You will rarely hear Matt or I mention the mess dress because he rarely will have to wear it. When Matt uses the term Bags, he is referring to his pilot jumpsuit. Here are some pictures to help:
